Michigan History

Eight educators from Michigan concerned about the pro-abortion position of the educational unions met in October 1997 to begin the process of forming a Michigan Teachers Saving Children® Affiliate State Chapter. This affiliate was officially approved by the National Board of Trustees on October 31, 1998. The board consisted of an Executive Director and seven board members. In the summer of 2001, five board members, for personal reasons, resigned. With only two board members remaining, the National Board of Trustees oversaw the Michigan affiliate until full board capacity was reached. Bi-yearly meetings occurred during that time. In the Fall of 2009, the Michigan affiliate Board of Trustees had an Executive Director and five Board members. With the Michigan Board of Trustees now at full capacity, the board plans on developing a Michigan brochure, publishing a newsletter, and reaching out to all union member and non-member educators.
