From December 2004 - November 2005 we provided five sample letters that one could use as a guide to opt out of the union on religious beliefs. It was assumed that individuals would research NEA documents for the most recent language and policy as well as rewrite the letters to meet one's personal beliefs and particular situation.

Under the advisement of Bruce Cameron, National Right to Work Legal Defense Foundation attorney, we are no longer providing sample letters. "Sample" or "form" letters are no different than "sample" homework and can cause harm for the teacher requesting religious accommodation. Therefore, we strongly advise anyone seeking to file either "fair share" or "religious accommodation" to contact the National Right to Work Legal Defense Foundation for further assistance.
