“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight.”
In reflecting on some thoughts to share in this column, I kept coming back to the topic of “trust and provision.” Though my column in last month’s newsletter had addressed the subject, I felt led to express to you, the membership, the thankfulness Teachers Saving Children®, Inc. Board of Trustees and I feel toward you for your generosity, and to Our Lord for His faithfulness. Despite the economic situation here in the United States, the Almighty God, through our membership and through other means, continues to provide for each need.
Communications from outspoken, conservative, pro-life teachers have revealed that a number of these past delegates to the NEA Representative Assemblies, have been re-elected. On April 5th, I personally received the news that I had, also, won my unit election and would be an at-large delegate from Ohio to the NEA RA in Washington DC in July. With that delegate status would be a stipend to offset my expenses for the RA, a blessing which would enable me once again to represent my colleagues.
Later in April, the Lord blessed Teachers Saving Children®, Inc. through bountiful input and coordinate efforts at the Board of Trustees meeting. We had one of the most fruitful and productive meetings ever. I continue to be amazed at the way God provides board members with different gifts, experiences, and insight—which contribute to healthy, well-rounded discussion and wise decisions.
Then, after the tragic, unexpected death of our printer (see related article on page 4), the Lord miraculously led Teachers Saving Children®, Inc. to another provider for our printing needs. This printer is close to my home, and the cost of printing will be very similar and sometimes less depending upon the item. In the midst of loss, provision was made again.
Teachers Saving Children®, Inc. has also been blessed by the continued monetary gifts designated for “The Wonder of Life” educational exhibit. Anticipation is mounting—what does God have in store for us this year as we share this powerful message of life?
As said last month, I have watched in awe as the Master Planner continues to work us through a low financial year. Through it all, He never ceases to bless Teachers Saving Children®, Inc. with the means necessary to pay each bill.
I am anxious to see what the Lord is going to do in the months ahead, especially this summer as we begin to receive memberships for the new membership year. It will be interesting to watch as teachers and other supporters, willing to sacrifice for life, come forth to join our ranks.
Finally, to all in need of rest: Enjoy these last few days of school, and have a blessed summer.
We are currently accepting new memberships for the 2008-2009 membership year. Any new memberships received after June 1st are good until August 31, 2009. Each month, States Affiliates receive membership updates and their portion of the dues received.
Please help the Teachers Saving Children® office keep accurate records by verifying all membership information. Please make sure your membership forms are accurate, complete, signed, and dated. Thank you for your continued support in being “A Voice for LIFE in Education.”

A special thank you to each person who has given $5, $10, or more to this special ministry opportunity. The Lord has once again graciously provided through you the funds needed for the exhibit space rental fee, miscellaneous fees, and the materials to distribute free to educators who visit our exhibit. We have also been able to purchase some videos and DVDs to distribute free to selected educators who would use them in their classrooms. Any additional funds received will be used for unexpected expenses that may occur as we finalize the details of the display.
Thank you for your continued prayers as we prepare and transport the display. Please pray for the Lord’s special anointing as we minister to individuals during the exhibit hours.
Reminder: Those individuals still desiring to support this exhibit financially should make their checks payable to “TSC Inc. – National”. Please carefully note how the amount given is to be designated (“NEA Exhibit”) so that the contribution will be appropriately allocated.
If you live in the Washington DC surrounding area and/or you will be attending the NEA events either as a delegate, a NEA member, or as a guest and would be willing to volunteer your time, please contact the Teachers Saving Children® National Office as soon as possible [tsc-life@juno.com or 330-821-2747]. It would be helpful to know prior to leaving for DC how many volunteers there are and their availability. In addition, the National Office has some information regarding professionalism and dress so please be in touch ASAP.
Thank you for considering being a part of sending the message of life to thousands of individuals who pass through the exhibit hall.
OCTOBER 5 – Today my life began. My parents do not know it yet. I am as small as a seed of an apple, but it is I already. And I am to be a girl. I shall have blond hair and blue eyes. Just about everything is settled though, even the fact that I shall love flowers.
OCTOBER 19 – Some say that I am not a real person yet, that only my mother exists. But I am a real person, just as a small crumb of bread is yet truly bread. My mother is. And I am.
OCTOBER 23 – My mouth is just beginning to open now. Just think, in a year or so I shall be laughing and later talking. I know what my first word will be: MAMA.
OCTOBER 25 – My heart began to beat today all by itself. From now on it shall gently beat for the rest of my life without ever stopping to rest! And after many years it will tire, it will stop, and then I shall die.
NOVEMBER 2 – I am growing a bit every day. My arms and legs are beginning to take shape. But I have to wait a long time yet before those little legs will raise me to my mother’s arms, before these little arms will be able to gather flowers and embrace my father.
NOVEMBER 12 – Tiny fingers are beginning to form on my hands. Funny how small they are! I’ll be able to stroke my mother’s hair with them.
NOVEMBER 20 – It wasn’t until today that the doctor told mom that I am living here under her heart. Oh, how happy she must be! Are you happy, mom?
NOVEMBER 25 – My mom and dad are probably thinking about a name for me. But they don’t even know that I am a little girl. I want to be called Kathy. I am getting so big already.
DECEMBER 10 – My hair is growing. It is smooth and bright and shiny. I wonder what kind of hair mom has.
DECEMBER 13 – I am just about able to see. It is dark around me. When mom brings me into the world it will be full of sunshine and flowers. But what I want more than anything is to see my mom. How do you look, mom?
DECEMBER 24 – I wonder if mom hears the whispering of my heart? Some children come into the world a little sick. But my heart is strong and healthy. It beats so evenly: tup-tup, tup-tup. You’ll have a healthy little daughter, mom!
DECEMBER 28 – Today my mother killed me.

7th and 8th graders say the most remarkable things. That truth is being borne out through some of the entries to the 2008 Pennsylvania Pro-Life Essay contest. Students at St. Francis Xavier school in Gettysburg recently submitted their essays for the contest, which ends March 1st [2008]. Some of their insights are truly amazing. Consider this analogy from a young man named Anthony. “Just picture someone in your life that you could not love any more than you do now. Picture that person leaving their house or somewhere they were…just for a few minutes, possibly to go get something. You wait for them to get back, and after ten or so minutes of waiting for them you get worried. You go out to try and find that person but you cannot find them. You go back in and call the police and sooner or later there is a search party out looking for them. You are worried for them so much that you get no sleep that night, and early that morning you get news from the police that the one person you loved the most had been murdered by a man for no reason at all. I do not know how you would feel but I know I would be torn apart. It would feel so unfair to just about anyone, especially since the person who had murdered your loved one had no motive to kill them at all. This situation is no different than abortion…”

It is vital that you contact your delegates to the NEA Representative Assembly, letting them know your philosophy on various issues and candidates. If you have a delegate(s) from your local attending the NEA convention, contact should be easy. However, many locals do not or cannot send delegates to the NEA RA. Therefore, state at-large delegates or cluster delegates need to be contacted. If you need the names and addresses of your delegate(s), please contact your local president or your NEA State Affiliate office.
Get involved by contacting your NEA delegates! Remind them to vote according to the wishes of the membership they represent! And then hold them accountable by requesting a written report upon their return! Remember: They are your representatives!
After 14 years of working together, Barb, Rob, and I developed a friendship, as well as a business relationship. We are very grateful for this association and the work that The Printing Barn did for Teachers Saving Children®.
We ask for your prayers for this grieving family.
Interesting perspective as we look at our students each day. May we remember that each student has been created for a purpose and that we are one of many who will have an impact on their lives for eternity.
