June 27, 1995, Damascus, Ohio.  Teachers Saving Children^® Inc. (TSC), a grassroots organization representing pro-life educators in Ohio, has expanded to encompass a network of teachers nationwide who oppose the National Education Association's (NEA) pro-abortion stand.

"One of our goals will be to work with key leaders across the nation to start TSC chapters in every state. We have seen an impact at the state level here in Ohio. We are expecting an even greater impact as we expand nationally," said Connie Bancroft, Executive Director of Teachers Saving Children^® Inc. - National.

"The need for an organization such as Teachers Saving Children^® is vital in today's society," said Bancroft. "Teachers across the country are taking a stand for their potential students and against the NEA's current position to have them aborted."

NEA convenes for its annual meeting July 3 - July 6, 1995 in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Pro-life caucus groups will be working to assure that no General Fund monies from the teachers' union dues will be used to support organizations that provide, promote, or lobby for abortion on demand. In accordance with the NEA Constitution, delegates have already submitted a petition to place an amendment before the NEA delegate body this summer.

"We aren't trying to make the NEA pro-life," added Bancroft. "We just think they have no business in the abortion business."

Even if an educator does not belong to the NEA or the American Federation of Teachers (AFT), these national unions represent the teachers of America. Pro-life teachers are joining together to let America know that the grassroots teacher loves all children, including the unborn.
