First of all, I want to publicly accept the position of Executive Director for another year. I want to thank the Board of Trustees for their continued confidence in me in leading this organization. I am thankful to God for allowing me this opportunity to serve Him and to be involved in saving the lives of the unborn, His creation and masterpiece.
I want to thank each Board member for their support and wisdom as decisions and strategies are made throughout the year. I am also thankful for the support of each member. We are all very busy with our careers, families, and personal lives, but yet even the notes and words of encouragement and your prayers are very much appreciated.
The need for an organization such as Teachers Saving Children® is vital in today's society. Many of you have asked how you as members can get involved in TSC. At this time our activities are minimal. However, your biggest involvement can be in spreading the word about TSC. We are growing and we can make a difference. But we need everyone who agrees with our purpose to join with us and help us fight for the lives of the unborn.
Let's continue to work together to save both the lives of the unborn and America's schools.
The time of the workshop will be determined later and will be on a schedule distributed that morning. Enclosed you'll find a brochure outlining the entire Life Academy. For more information, contact Life Academy personnel.
Plan now to join TSC at the convention!
7:30 AM - 10:00 AM
The hour is early, but the sacrifice will never be too great for the lives of the unborn that will be saved.
Mark your calendars now! Your help is needed to not only stage our annual pro-life peaceful demonstration, but also to help spread the word.
More information will follow!
1. Election of Officers of the Board for the 1994-95 fiscal year were held. Connie Bancroft will serve as Executive Director; Gary Winney will serve as the Assistant Executive Director; the Secretary's position was tabled until the June meeting.
2. The Board approved a change in the Constitution & Bylaws to allow retired teachers to join for $10 beginning with the 1994-95 membership year.
3. The Board made final plans for the annual peaceful demonstration in Columbus.
4. The Board decided to continue researching for other informational brochures pertinent to the purpose, goals, and strategies of our organization.
If you are not a district or OEA delegate, but have an interest in what is happening, you can still attend these meetings as a visitor. To receive information on the exact location and times, please contact your local president or call OEA at 1-800-282-1550.
The district meetings are as follows:
Life Issues Caucus continues to work at the OEA RA and is interested in receiving the names of pro-life delegates who will be attending these meetings. These persons do not need to be members of TSC. Please contact Gary Winney at 216-944-4409 as soon as possible.
An updated brochure should be ready by June. If you have any other ideas as to how we can inform people about TSC, please let us know.
For local delegates election information, contact your local president. At-large state delegates are elected by the membership representing the various OEA units. Ballots plus biographical information of each candidate for at-large elections will be sent to the locals in February. Ballots are due back to the OEA office by March 15, 1993. If you do not receive a biography of the candidates and/or a ballot, please contact your local president.
Results of the at-large delegate elections will be reported to all local association presidents within three weeks of the election deadline with a notation that the results be posted in each building of the local. Be sure these results are posted in your building and then make a personal contact with your representative(s), letting them know your philosophy on various issues.
Get involved by educating yourself about the candidates and vote!
