Time: 11 AM to 1 PM
Place: OEA Headquarters, 225 E Broad St., Columbus OH Your help is needed to stage our annual pro-life demonstration against the National Education Association's pro-abortion stand. We are hoping for a minimum of 25-30 people. We will be meeting at 10:45 AM in the parking lot behind the OEA building for final instructions. Maps are included in this newsletter.
We are holding this demonstration at the same time as the NEA convention, which is being held in Miami, FL. The media will be notified of the event and it should be different enough so as to receive coverage. The TSC Ad Hoc Committee will serve as the spokesmen to the media.
As a reminder, NEA is one of the primary advocates of Planned Parenthood and their attack on the children of this nation. NEA adopted Resolution I-21 in 1985 (amended in 1986) which stands as the official NEA policy (See brochure). Of course, NEA officials deny that the NEA is "pro-abortion". NEA states that it is just in favor of "reproductive freedom" and "all methods of family planing."
However, as a pro-life teacher I am extremely offended that an organization that is supposedly dedicated to the welfare and education of children would willingly and knowingly participate in the slaughter of the innocent. We will in no way be attacking the NEA union at large or the membership. Our target is the leadership and policies of the union. It is time that we make our feelings known to the leadership of the NEA and the general public needs to be made aware of the two-faced nature of the NEA.
Please share this information with pro-life teachers and those you think would like to attend but do not publicly advertise it in anyway. If you are planning to attend please let me know so I have an idea of how many people to expect. Drop a line, or call and leave a message.
NOTE: We are trying to get information about TSC out to as many people as possible. We need your help. One way that we are hoping to do public relations is through local Right to Life Chapters.
Currently we are working with Ohio Right to Life to include our literature at their booth at the Ohio State Fair. Anyone wanting to work at the state fair Ohio Right to Life booth can contact Ohio Right to Life at 614-445-8369.
We would also like to include our literature at Right to Life county fair booths. If you have contacts with local Right to Life chapters and want to help out in this way, please contact me for more details.
Also, if you have any other ideas as to how we can inform people about our organization, please let us know.
