The need for an organization such as Teachers Saving Children® is vital in today's society. It is important for the people at the grassroots level to get involved. Thus, we need all of you who agree with our purpose to join us TODAY and help us fight for the lives of the unborn. I hope that you too can get excited and involved in rescuing our professional educators' organizations. The impact we have will be dependent upon the number of people we represent.
Remember, we can make a difference! Get involved by helping us spread the news about TSC so that unborn lives can be saved!
During the discussion of resolutions, members of Life Issues Caucus were able to hold Resolution I-3 which allowed for further discussion on the item. Resolution I-3 paragraph 2 states:
Delegates were open to debating both sides of the issue. Several delegates expressed concern regarding the divisiveness of the issue within the OEA. The motion failed on a voice vote to delete paragraph 2 of Resolution I-3. When compared to previous RA's, there was increased vocal support to eliminate this divisive issue from the OEA Resolution document.
Life Issues Caucus is already working on strategies for future OEA RA's regarding the abortion issue.
Anyone who is a member of TSC or even just interested in finding out more about TSC may attend this Gathering. We are looking forward to meeting many of you who are helping us fight this battle at the grassroots level.

4. The Ohio Chapter is affiliated with the national organization of TSC. When joining TSC of Ohio you will automatically be a member of the national organization. Please DO NOT renew or join TSC through the national office. Any monies, including contributions, sent to the national office will automatically be returned to the Ohio Chapter for processing.
If you have a delegate(s) from your local attending the NEA convention, contact should be very easy. However, many locals do not or can not send delegates to the NEA. Therefore, state at-large delegates need to be contacted. All local association presidents were notified of the at-large NEA delegate election results in early April. These results were to be posted in each building of the local. If these were not posted, then contact your local president and find out who your delegates are.
Get involved by contacting your NEA delegates! They are your representatives!
There are also two other bills of significance which are related to educational reform. HB 224 would eliminate the EMIS database and would transfer funds budgeted and not encumbered to the budget stabilization fund.
SB 127 would create an appointed Professional Standards Board. This item was deleted from HB 152. SB 127 would create an appointed rather than an elected Standards Board and would also set up licensure for educators with NO grandfather provision.
Keep in contact with your local state representatives and senators. Time is of the essence as the cost of educational reform to Ohio families and their children will be ad infinitum.
