BOARD OF TRUSTEES MEETING

September 23, 2000: The TSC Ohio Chapter Board of Trustees met in Columbus, Ohio, for their regularly scheduled Fall meeting. The following are highlights of some of the items that were discussed.

1. To comply with the decision of the TSC National Board of Trustees to amend the TSC Purpose Statement, the TSC Ohio Chapter Board of Trustees amended Article 1, Section 1 of the Constitution & Bylaws to read as follows: "Teachers Saving Children® Inc. of Ohio, hereinafter called Corporation, is an organization of pro-life teachers of Ohio and other concerned citizens whose primary purpose is a commitment to establishing a respect for all human life from conception to natural death, especially among professional educators' organizations."

2. The Board of Trustees moved to accept the new National TSC slogan "A Voice for LIFE in Education". All publicity materials will be updated with the new slogan as these materials are reprinted.

3. The Board of Trustees approved the 1999-2000 fiscal report and the following 2000-2001 Ohio budget:

TSC does not solicit additional contributions beyond memberships, but does appreciate any additional contributions received throughout the year.

STATE BOARD OF EDUCATION RACES

Over the past several years TSC has shared articles with our members regarding the State of Ohio Health Model Curricula. It is very important as citizens that we continue to keep a watchful eye on this process and most effectively can do so by electing responsible individuals who not only value life, but who will also stand firm on their convictions and not cave in to the pressure of politics. That is why it is so important for the citizens of this state to become involved in the State of Ohio Board of Education Election process. Seven of the eleven Districts will have Board members who will be elected this November.

For your information, the following districts will have candidates for the upcoming State of Ohio Board of Education elections on November 7, 2000: Districts #1, 5, 6, 7, 9, 10, & 11 (See map). We encourage you to take the time to contact and research those running in your district and become involved in your state government. For additional information regarding the State of Ohio Board of Education Candidates, please contact the Ohio Roundtable Decision 2000 website at www.decision2000.org.
